French Film Festival: The Bertrands' Farm (12+)

In the French Alps in 1972: the Bertrand dairy farm with its 100 animals run by three brothers is filmed for the first time. Gilles Perret, a neighbour, made his first film about the three brothers in 1997, as they hand over their farm to the next generation. Twenty-five years later, the director-neighbour takes up the camera again to accompany Hélène, who, in turn, is handing over the reins. Through the words and actions of the people who have succeeded one another, the film reveals compelling life journeys where work and transmission occupy a central place: an intimate, social and economic story of the French farming world.

The film was awarded the 2025 César for Best Documentary.
