The Centre is run by volunteers, local people who believe in what the building has to offer to the community and who enjoy supporting our visiting professional artists and local groups, helping us to help bring life-enriching cultural experiences and vital community activities to all ages.

There are a number of ways you can support us:

We need volunteers to help with events and cinema screenings, on reception, with our Little Shop Honesty Shop, maintaining our social media presence and Just Giving page, researching and planning our cinema screenings and delivering our workshops. If interested please CONTACT US for an informal chat and more information. Below are some of the regular activities we run and occasions for which volunteers are always needed:

Tuesday Club – socialising, preparing and serving refreshments, helping with activities
Lunch & Chat – socialising, preparing and serving, clearing up afternwards
Café – Serving during Events; Cinema; Workshops
Morning Reception – taking calls, bookings, payments for events, clerical tasks
Cinema Support – Film Selection Panel; Research
Cinema Support – Front of House; Tickets
Cinema Support – NTL satellite projectionists ; DVD projectionists
Social Media – Facebook; Website; Twitter; Just Giving
Advertising/ Marketing – Local print media; brochures
Publicity/ Design – brochures; posters, special flyers, delivering
General Repairs – join our team of specialists
Fundraising – helping with fundraising Events
Fundraising Administration manager – ensuring regular fundraising timetables
Events – Booking; Organisation; Support

Any ideas/ suggestions, activities and events for the Centre are always appreciated (including constructive criticism!) and how volunteers’ roles can be expanded.

Entries into the 100 club monthly draw are taken from January to March each year. For only £12 per year you are entered into a draw with a chance to win one of three prizes each month. First number drawn receives £25, second number drawn receives £15 and the third receives £10. Starting February, draws take place during the last week of the month and winners are notified asap. If you wish to participate, please pick up a form from the Centre and bring it back with your payment (cash, card or a cheque made payable to Leyburn Arts Centre Ltd). Arrangements can also be made for electronic bank transfer or standing order if you prefer.

CONTACT US and donate £250 Per Year. You would receive: accreditation on our website, a complimentary room hire and an opportunity to host your own film night for staff or clients.
