| Green Futures - April 2021 Volunteers Gill Aitken and Pat Dickenson helped by Ruben the representative from the Youth Cafe members who had applied for the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust Green Futures Youth Environmental Action Fund award. The tree planting was part of the final part of the project which unfortunately had been severely restricted because of the COVID-19 restrictions. Also planted previously were blueberry bushes, rhubarb and herbs. An art structure has been created with he help of volunteer Howard Firth which as well as displaying plants is also designed as a home for insects and other pollinators. The group also purchased a mini greenhouse which is being used for seedlings of flowers particularly attractive to bees. It is hoped these will be ready for the Centre’s Plant Fayre on the Friday to Sunday, 7-9th May. |

Our little gathering may not have been on a par with Buckingham Palace and Prince Charles, but a good time was had by all and the homemade cakes were delicious. |
